VISION & MISSION STATEMENT

“Enabling grassroots communities to maximise their potential. At the heart of this, Khidmat Centres aspires to tackling difficult and often overlooked causes such as disability, gender equality, age discrimination and criminality.”

To achieve the above, Khidmat Centres will aim to provide high quality facilities and services for local communities in areas of health, education and leisure, for bettering the quality of life of the most vulnerable members of the community.

Khidmat Centres vision is to work towards achieving long-term financial sustainability by way of partnership working with other providers and maximising income from the use of our facilities and services.

CURRENT FACILITIES & SERVICES

CURRENT FACILITIES at Khidmat Centre: 36 Spencer Road, Bradford, BD7 2EU

Conference hall:

This is a multi-purpose space which is used for public meetings, community events, and activities.

Training and meeting rooms:

Ideal for small scale meetings and training.

3 Social and Wellbeing rooms:

A TV room, 2 activities rooms. Three project base rooms for Learning Disability day-care provision which include a ‘snooze room’, special hygiene and washing area.

Community Kitchen

: This is a fully equipped commercial kitchen which is used for preparing on site daily meals for our learning disability and day care elderly users. The kitchen is also used by community groups and members of the public for meetings, and events.

Cafeteria:

This is attached to the kitchen used by our regular service users, members of the public coming into the centre for tea/ coffee which is always available. The Cafeteria has become a hub by local community wardens, community police officers and community volunteers. It has become a vibrant meeting space.

Sports Hall:

The sports hall, from Monday and Friday is used by our two partner schools, namely, Farnham Primary and Horton Grange primary schools for their physical education activities. In the evening and at weekends the sports hall is hired to members of the community, at present, we have a full use of the sports hall. Attached to the sports hall are changing rooms, showers, toilets and storage rooms.

Car park:

The Centres has a large car park which is very convenient for pick-ups and drop-offs for our users many who have mobility difficulties.

Outside grounds:

The centre is surrounded by a large open field, some of which could be developed to expand facilities.

Social & Wellbeing room:

For elderly users inclusive of a TV room and activities.

Community Kitchen:

Used for elderly luncheon club, tea and coffee, and small scale community events.

 

KHIDMAT CENTRES’ SERVICES

Both Centres are well used offering a wide range of range of facilities and activities. Some of these are under the direct management of Khidmat Centres and others are delivered by community groups.  These include:

  • Health & Programmes for elderly
  • Day care for elderly
  • Day care for people with learning disability
  • Muslim Women Prisoners Resettlement Programme
  • Adult education classes
  • A range of sports activities: youth football sessions, children and parents football sessions, Karate classes, Jujitsu, badminton, basketball etc. These are mostly evenings and weekends as the sports hall is reserved for the use of two primary schools for the Physical education between the areas of 9am until 4am.
